Song of The Week – ‘Love on Top’
Tuesday, March 6th, 2012Song of The Week – ‘How Will I Know’
Thursday, February 16th, 2012I couldn’t believe the news at the weekend about the sad death of Whitney Houston. I think its safe to say that most singers were hugely inspired by her one-of-a-kind voice, especially those of my generation that grew up when ‘The Bodyguard’ was the biggest film/soundtrack EVER!
I thought it only appropriate to make one of my favourite Whitney tracks our ‘song of the week’. I have spent many a morning dancing round my kitchen to this one….
RIP Whitney, and thank you for the inspiration!
Song of the Week – ‘What Do I Know’ by Juan Zelada
Wednesday, February 1st, 2012
I really wanted to make this ‘song of the week’ because a) ITS BRILLIANT! and b) the band features some of our MIB musicians, and we are super proud and would love if you could all go out and buy the single (and/or the album which is out next week!)
I must say though – what a great band, and its not just because we know and love them, but having seen these guys play live – they have such an amazing chemistry, fantastic songs and they obviously love what they do. Thats something I love to see, and I can’t wait to get the album!
Enjoy….
Song of The Week – Juan Zelada – ‘Blues Remain’
Wednesday, October 26th, 2011I wanted to make this song my ‘song of the week’ this week, because a) its just a FANTASTIC tune, and b) you may spot a few of our MIB musicians in the band!
The single is out on Monday 31st October, so please do buy it on itunes and support the guys…. The song has already been A-listed by Radio 2, so we’re hoping its going to be a big hit!
Happy listening
Song of the Week – Aloe Blacc ‘Green Lights’
Wednesday, September 28th, 2011Ooh we haven’t done a ‘song of the week’ for ages…but this one has tempted me! I love his voice…. obviously the first single was just awesome, but I’m really loving this tune too… what do you think? (Makes me a bit wobbly inside!)
Song of the week – ‘Cuddly Toy’ by Roachford
Wednesday, July 13th, 2011Its been far to long since I did a ‘song of the week’, which I admit puts the title to shame…
On Friday, MIB performed at an army event in Oxfordshire, which had an 80′s theme. We took great pleasure in putting together an ‘all 80′s’ setlist for them, and it went down a storm! We had such fun, and so did all the guests it seems….
So, now that we’re in full on 80′s mode, I dug out a bit of Roachford and have been singing along to it all morning. I LOVE this tune!
Enjoy
Song of the Week – ‘Don’t Stop’ by Fleetwood
Thursday, May 19th, 2011This is one of my favourite bands of all time, and given that Glee did a ‘Fleetwood Mac’ special on Monday, I thought perhaps it warrented one of their songs being my ‘song of the week.’
Which one to choose was a nightmare, but after much pondering (and musical research which basically consisting of listening to their albums over and over!), this is my absolute fave. I especially love the ‘pelvic thrusting trumpters’ in the background!
