Song of the Week – ‘What Do I Know’ by Juan Zelada

Wednesday, February 1st, 2012

I really wanted to make this ‘song of the week’ because a) ITS BRILLIANT! and b) the band features some of our MIB musicians, and we are super proud and would love if you could all go out and buy the single (and/or the album which is out next week!)

I must say though – what a great band, and its not just because we know and love them, but having seen these guys play live – they have such an amazing chemistry, fantastic songs and they obviously love what they do. Thats something I love to see, and I can’t wait to get the album!

Enjoy….

I wanted to make this song my ‘song of the week’ this week, because a) its just a FANTASTIC tune, and b) you may spot a few of our MIB musicians in the band! ;)

The single is out on Monday 31st October, so please do buy it on itunes and support the guys…. The song has already been A-listed by Radio 2, so we’re hoping its going to be a big hit!

Happy listening :)

Song of the Week – Aloe Blacc ‘Green Lights’

Wednesday, September 28th, 2011

Ooh we haven’t done a ‘song of the week’ for ages…but this one has tempted me! I love his voice…. obviously the first single was just awesome, but I’m really loving this tune too… what do you think? (Makes me a bit wobbly inside!)

Song of the week – ‘Cuddly Toy’ by Roachford

Wednesday, July 13th, 2011

Its been far to long since I did a ‘song of the week’, which I admit puts the title to shame…

On Friday, MIB performed at an army event in Oxfordshire, which had an 80′s theme. We took great pleasure in putting together an ‘all 80′s’ setlist for them, and it went down a storm! We had such fun, and so did all the guests it seems….

So, now that we’re in full on 80′s mode, I dug out a bit of Roachford and have been singing along to it all morning. I LOVE this tune! :)

Enjoy

Song of the Week – ‘Don’t Stop’ by Fleetwood

Thursday, May 19th, 2011

This is one of my favourite bands of all time, and given that Glee did a ‘Fleetwood Mac’ special on Monday, I thought perhaps it warrented one of their songs being my ‘song of the week.’

Which one to choose was a nightmare, but after much pondering (and musical research which  basically consisting of listening to their albums over and over!), this is my absolute fave. I especially love the ‘pelvic thrusting trumpters’ in the background!

MIB have released our own ‘Royal Wedding’ single today

Friday, April 29th, 2011

Ok…. so us performing at Hyde Park today wasn’t all of our news! I am excited to say that as MIB we are releasing our debut single today, named ‘On This Day’, which is available on itunes now! If you’d like to buy a copy, search on itunes for ‘On This Day MIB’

Ok, we’re a covers band first and foremost, and we love what we do, but being so honoured to be taking part in this fantastic day has inspired us to write and produce a one off single, dedicated and inspired by Wills & Kate and their big day. We got together with one of our keyboard players, Francis Goodhand (super duper MD who has worked with people like Kylie, Cilla Black, & David Hasslehoff to name a few) and the rest of the band and wrote, arranged and recorded this single in just one day, working through the night to get it done in time to be released for this weekend.

We really had no idea how it would turn out like, but its now been quoted to be “a mix between Take That’s ‘Greatest Day’ and Leona Lewis’s ‘A Moment Like This”, and some of the press have speculated that it is expected to be the competition to the ‘official’ soundtrack to today from the Welsh Guards! ARRRRGH we are so excited!

So… please go to itunes and buy our single… it will cost you a mere 79p and will help get MIB on the map!!

Song of the Week – Got to Give it Up (Marvin Gaye)

Tuesday, March 8th, 2011

Its been forever since I’ve done a ‘song of the week’ – (which I realise means the title of the category doesn’t quite work, haha), but I keep hearing this song everywhere lately, and have decided it has to be my song of the week. I think this song is SUCH a fab dance-floor filler. We haven’t tried it with any of the bands yet, but I know if a DJ played this tune I’d be the first one up on the floor!
Turn it up! :)

Feel my love by Adele is song of the week!

This song has been sooooo popular at Weddings recently, so I wanted to make it my ‘song of the week’, and also suggest this as a lovely first dance idea…. its beautiful!

Song of the Week – Just Dance – Lady Gaga

Thursday, September 16th, 2010

I haven’t done a ‘Song of the Week’ for a little while just because its been absolutely manic here…what with it being the beginnings of the ‘Christmas rush’ here in the office, our showcase on Tuesday, and September being really popular for both Weddings and corporate events…we’ve been rushed off our feet! However, I thought I might take a bit of time out today to share this with you…

This song of the week winner is a little bit inspired by our showcase gig on Tuesday…we threw this tune into the MIB set pretty last minute, on a bit of a whim, and I’m really pleased with how it went! It was the only song in the whole two sets MIB played that doesn’t really feature any live brass and was a good indication of perhaps what the smaller 5 piece line-up sounds like. We got lots of video footage which will of course posted up soon, but in memory of the performance, my ‘Song of the Week’ has got to be ‘Just Dance’ by the awesome Lady Gaga…

Song of the Week – Funkin for Jamaica

Thursday, August 19th, 2010

I put together a setlist for one of our clients yesterday and got ever-so-excited that she’d asked for us to play this song, which I love! I hadn’t thought of it before for us to play live, so am really excited to give it a try. Such a great tune! Check it out…
