This is a new feature we’ve just decided to add and we thought it might be nice to feature a few of our fab musicians and singers!

First up, the lovely Bertie Norton!

 

Bertie is one of our favourite singers to work with because she is just sooooooooo lovely, and every time she emails or calls the office it just makes us smile! And to top it off, not only is she a lovely person but also a fabulous singer to boot…

Bertie sings with Funkadelics, MIB and Live Loungers as well as a few other South Coast based bands that she loves! She also has her own jazz band and can be found every other thursday, crooning by firelight at a little pub near Steyning, West Sussex. She also teaches part time at Studio Rocks in Brighton, and privately to kids and adults of all ages.

Artist Interview

Whats your absolute favourite part of being a pro musician?

 There are too many to choose from… I suppose getting to singggg! I was once told I would never ever be a pro singer and so I am living proof if you love something & work hard enough at it, it will happen!!

 Another favourite for me are the weddings. Being invited to be part of someones wedding day when you have never met them before & yet there you are, on the most important day of their lives, singing their first dance which they will remember forever, for me is a total honour and just amazing.

 What made you decide to do this professionally?

 I just always knew that music was the way forward for me.. I followd by gut instinct and heart. Plus when all my friends were studying for their GCSE’s or creating spreadsheets for their maths coursework, I was ear-wigging with a glass to the door outside my school big band’s rehearsal room!! (…Which I of course later joined… ) These sorts of slightly odd muso behavioural traits were everywhere as I grew up… !!

 Name your top moment so far in your musical career

 Dancing & harmonising on stage with Paolo Nutini on the night he was signed to Universal… I literally floated home that night!!

 Why do you love working with MIB Music bands? (heheee cheeky!)

 Because I ALWAYS know I am going to be working with musicians that I can trust, that know their craft & that I will always be friends with. That, and the setlists are always AWESOME.
