MIB to perform at prestigious ‘London Rocks’ Concert

Friday, May 13th, 2011

We are excited to announce that MIB will be performing again at this year’s ‘London Rocks’ fundraising concert at Cafe De Paris on Thursday 9th June. We performed for this event last year, and we can’t wait to do it again! Last year the event was swimming with celebrities, press, media and glittering guests from all over the country, and we had fun not only getting the party going at the end of the night, but watching all the other fabulous acts!

This year will be featuring some fantastic artistes including the beautiful and talented Kezi Silverstone, our very own Rachel Golding, Stringfever, Stavros Flatley, Lenny Zakatek (of Alan Parsons project), Steve Rodgers (son of Paul Rodgers) and Peter Brame of Fame Academy.

The lovely organisers have been generous enough to give us a small selection of free tickets! A lot of these have gone, but we do have just a few Silver tickets to give away, should you fancy a night out! If you’re interested in coming along, please get in touch asap enquiries@mibmusicltd.com (I expect these to be gone by the end of today), and once we’ve given away all our freebies, we’d love for you to come along to support the charity and MIB, and you can get tickets here

MIB will be performing at around 11.15p.m as the 7 piece band. Hope to see you there!

Huge Crowds at Hyde Park on Friday…

Sunday, May 1st, 2011

Not sure if this will even come out too well on here as this photo is SO ridiculously epic, but here’s a pic to show the crowds at Hyde Park that MIB performed to on Friday… If you look very closely you can see the stage (and us) to the left hand side! What a day… totally unforgettable and I think we’re feeling like the luckiest band in the world right now!

MIB make the US & Oz news, and responsible for Britains largest Conga…

Sunday, May 1st, 2011

Still recovering here from Fridays awesome Royal Wedding Day… and we’re absolutely ecstastic to hear that MIB has gone GLOBAL! We’ve been featured in the news and coverage of the big day all over the world, including LA and Australia! Apparently our single, ‘On This Day’ (written and recorded for the special day) as also been selling well, which is so exciting!

I’m still in the middle of collecting all the feedback and video, reviews etc. However I’ve come across this and couldn’t resist putting it up now…..

Check out, the UKs largest ever conga line! (I’m pretty sure its the UK’s largest anyway, going to contact Guiness book of records and find out! Haha)

Official Pics from MIB at Hyde Park for the Royal Wedding

Saturday, April 30th, 2011

Woweee…what a day we had yesterday. It was such an honour to be involved in Will & Kates big day…and to be honest just being in Hyde Park to watch the ceremony was enough (although I did start balling my eyes out as she came down the aisle so had to take myself away for a while for fear of spoiling the make up, lol), let alone performing to apparently 300,000 people!
Rumour has it, it was the largest UK gig of all time! WOW! We loved it…

There’s plenty of youtube footage going around so check that out when you get a sec (I’ll probably post a few of them up later), but here are a few pics!

It was such a fantastic day and we have loads more pictures so if you want to check out more, check out our facebook page

Don’t forget to download our special ‘Royal Wedding’ themed single, ‘On This Day’ by MIB band – out now on itunes!

A little bit of footage from the crowd of MIB at Hyde Park…

Friday, April 29th, 2011

What a day!!! I can’t really quite believe it yet…. we had SUCH an amazing time today performing in Hyde Park, and of course watching the wedding – it was just beautiful, and the vibe of everyone there was emmense!

I’ve got loads and loads of pics and video for you, but just as a little taster, check out this video footage from someone stood about half way back through the crowd – glad they were enjoying themselves :)

MIB have released our own ‘Royal Wedding’ single today

Friday, April 29th, 2011

Ok…. so us performing at Hyde Park today wasn’t all of our news! I am excited to say that as MIB we are releasing our debut single today, named ‘On This Day’, which is available on itunes now! If you’d like to buy a copy, search on itunes for ‘On This Day MIB’

Ok, we’re a covers band first and foremost, and we love what we do, but being so honoured to be taking part in this fantastic day has inspired us to write and produce a one off single, dedicated and inspired by Wills & Kate and their big day. We got together with one of our keyboard players, Francis Goodhand (super duper MD who has worked with people like Kylie, Cilla Black, & David Hasslehoff to name a few) and the rest of the band and wrote, arranged and recorded this single in just one day, working through the night to get it done in time to be released for this weekend.

We really had no idea how it would turn out like, but its now been quoted to be “a mix between Take That’s ‘Greatest Day’ and Leona Lewis’s ‘A Moment Like This”, and some of the press have speculated that it is expected to be the competition to the ‘official’ soundtrack to today from the Welsh Guards! ARRRRGH we are so excited!

So… please go to itunes and buy our single… it will cost you a mere 79p and will help get MIB on the map!!

MIB are performing at Hyde Park for the Royal Wedding!

Friday, April 29th, 2011

It gives me great pleasure to announce officially, that MIB are booked to perform at Hyde Park today as part of the Royal Wedding celebrations! We are SO excited!

We’d been asked to keep quiet about this since it was booked about a month ago – which nearly killed me. Hense my not writing anything on my blog for a while – its been pretty hard to think about anything else to be honest…LOL!

We  soundchecked last night, and I have to say its going to be absolutely epic! We can’t wait… already, just last night, people were gathering in the park and dancing away just as we soundchecked. Its going to be such a great vibe!

So…. who’s coming to Hyde Park? We are the only band (other than a few brass bands) performing as our 10 piece line-up at Hyde Park for a 35mins set at around 1.30p.m, and apparently officials are expecting 200,000-500,000 people to be there to celebrate with us! WE CANT WAIT! Come on down and paaaaaarty! :)

We’ll be posting up lots more info when we can throughout the day, and I am working on a video blog for your viewing pleasure!

Will post later with updates and photos etc. Eeeeeek hope to see you there!

Funkadelics latest live footage – ‘You’ve got the Love’

Thursday, April 21st, 2011

First off, apologies for not writing anything for a little while – all I can say is we have some VERY exciting news here in MIB Music land…. we’re having to keep schtum right now, but I can’t wait to share it all with you!! ;)

But, to keep you going for now, check out this fabulous footage of Funkadelics performing ‘You Got The Love’ at our showcase a few months back… its just stunning! This song has been really popular for first dances lately – such lovely lyrical meaning to it, and a real epic number!

A fab evening of entertainment last night for the Army…

Thursday, March 10th, 2011

We had a fab night last night. As MIB Music, we were asked to team up with one of our favourite entertainment agencies ‘Arts Sound & Leisure’ (One of the many wonderful entertainment companies we are affiliated with) and help organise a showcase for the Army. AS&L gave us the honour of hosting our very own ‘MIB Music’ room within the showcase, and we got the chance to feature a selection of our bands for 200 army event bookers from all over the country. We were absolutely chuffed to be invited to do this, and especially as, having worked with this company a number of times before, everything they organise is on a truly fantastic scale!

We kicked off the evening with Funkadelics, then 21st Century Riot, who both did a fantastic job opening the whole show. I was really surprised to see everyone singing along and clapping right from the start (which is rare at these showcase things as most people aren’t drinking or there to particularly have fun, just check out bands).  The guests then switched to another room to see some other acts, while we reset the stage in time for them to come back to sit down for dinner. Marianne (our fantastic solo vocalist) then performed a gorgeous set of jazz and easy listening tunes while the guests ate, and Motown Supreme & MIB (8 piece) then took to the stage.

I must say, as always, but especially so last night, I was SUPER proud to work with such fantastic musicians, who are not only hugely talented, but all such lovely people who are just so easy to work with. Soppy Sera! :) Thank you to all of our lovely musicians who made it such a great evening.

I took a few pictures. They’re all up on our Facebook Page, but here are a few just to whet your whistle! (And excuse my perhaps not so professional photography skills!)
